Auburn Construction successfully completed the addition, renovation, and preservation of the historic Mt. Carmel Church, originally built in 1903. The project included the construction of a new entrance addition with an updated elevation that seamlessly blended with the church’s architectural character while enhancing functionality and accessibility. As part of Auburn’s commitment to inclusive design, the church was made fully ADA compliant, including the installation of new ADA-accessible bathrooms. Inside, the renovation was comprehensive, with all new finishes throughout the building. Special attention was given to the restoration of the church’s ornate ceiling art, which was carefully preserved and enhanced with new gold leafing, bringing its original grandeur back to life. Auburn fully renovated key liturgical and communal spaces, including the Nave, Altar, Reredos, Sacristy, and the social gathering area, all while maintaining historical integrity. Additionally, the project included a complete upgrade of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and sprinkler systems (MEPS) to meet modern performance standards while supporting the long-term sustainability of this treasured landmark.
