Auburn was contracted to provide Construction Management Services for the renovation of various units within a 360,000 sq. ft. facility. The team worked closely with Signature to develop a detailed phasing and logistics plan, ensuring seamless coordination of employee and patient movements throughout the renovation process. The project involved several key areas, beginning with the Imaging Department renovation, which transformed 7,800 sq. ft. of existing space into a state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgical Center. This included the construction of two operating rooms, a nurses’ station, and pre- and postoperative rooms. Additionally, the Emergency Department underwent a 12,400 sq. ft. multi-phased renovation within the occupied space. The work included the creation of two new nurses’ stations, a complete remodeling of exam and trauma rooms, a tri age area, patient-of-size rooms, and new bathrooms and offices. New finishes were installed throughout the department, including in corridors, hallways, and associated storage and utility rooms.

The project also focused on the Behavioral Health Department, renovating 4,200 sq. ft. within the Emergency Department to provide a specialized area for patient care. This included the addition of 12 new anti-ligature exam rooms, a secure nursing station, anti-ligature shower and toilet rooms, and essential support spaces such as soiled utility and clean storage rooms. Another major component of the renovation was the 7,500 sq. ft. overhaul of the Main Lobby, designed to enhance the patient experience. The renovation included a newly designed lobby, updated restrooms, a redesigned main registration suite, an executive office suite, and improved security features. Throughout the entire project, Auburn’s team prioritized minimizing disruptions to hospital operations while upgrading the facility’s infrastructure and services to enhance patient care.
